Where is the blogging

Can't believe that so few of you so-called web savvy guys and gals are not making the most of posting a few blogs.

Really good show and some of the sessions proved really interesting. The issue here is that while people are talking about blogging al lthe time, nobody seems to be giving it a crack - WHEN IT IS FREE AND ON YOUR DOORSTEP, right here.

I was at the World Travel Market and Travolution Conference back in November, and I was amazed how many travel companies had not heard of a blog.

Yes, it’s free to create a blog, but let’s be realistic; it’s tough promoting a blog unless you’ve got a high traffic website where you can promote the blog to your visitors. There’s nothing worse writing regularly and no one finding your blog or commenting.

Don’t let this put you off though because if done properly the blog can be used to:

- help market your travel product or services
- build your business brand
- raise your profile on the internet

The worst type of travel blog is a commercial blog – try to avoid promoting your site and instead write destination guides, leave hints and tips, discuss travel industry news, and visitors will come, leave comments and link to your blog…

… and we will know what links provide.

Yep, better search engine ranking, more visitors, and increased revenue.

I'm happy to answer any questions any of you have about starting up or promoting a blog :-)
